PRAVESHOTSAV KARY SUCHI

The three-day annual Shala Praveshotsav and Kanya Kelavani drive ended on Saturday. The drive which began from Thursday was aimed to enrol students in class I and toddlers in anganwadis.
On the last day of the drive, chief minister Vijay Rupani enrolled 35 students in class 1 and 13 toddlers in the anganwadi in Juna Poran village situated in Radhanpur Taluka of Patan district.
The drive was first kicked off in year 2003 by the then chief minister Narendra Modi.
While addressing villagers and parents, Rupani said as result of the drive, the school dropout ratio has decreased and the state was able to achieve 100% enrolment.
“We have allocated Rs25,000 crore in the current fiscal budget for education sector. The state is going to begin 2,500 virtual classes for classes 7 and 8 to connect students with the modern education system and to empower them as well,” said Rupani, adding, “Out of them, 250 virtual classes are in Patan district.”
